Where is the coast of Achaens?

Before he started Troy excavations, M. Osman Korfmann made excavations in Beşik-Yassıtepe and Beşik- Sivritepe from 1982 till 1987 in order to find answers to the questions like where is the coast of Troy or where did Achaens docked their ships. During these excavations, it is also researched the process of filling of the Beşik Coast (right opposite to Bozcaada) and it is discovered a graveyard (from 13th century B.C.E.) of the north side of the coast, which is very suitable for the ships that wait for the right wind to pass the Dardanelles.

Korfmann's excavation on Beşik Coast, Beşik-Yassıtepe and Sivritepe showed that the harbour was in fact there.
Coast of Beşik became since thousands of years a shelter for the sailors who fight with strong flow of the strain. The geomorphological researches of Prof. Dr. İlhan Kaya from Ege University showed that this coast began to be filled 6000 years ago and as time passed took the shape of a lagoon. We know that the coast had been used until Ottomans from the explanations of Piri Reis. Moreover, the mansion made by Cezayirli Hasan Paşa in 1770 very close to the Beşik Coast shows us that it had been used as a harbour for a very long time. Troy's importance and richness came from its controlling the transition in Dardanelles. The taxes and extortions paid by the trade ships that should shelter on the Troy with the Beşik Coast. In other words richness came to made Troy richer.
