Did Homer have a map?

The regions where events took place in Homer's epics

The researchers since 18th century try to understand the geography told ins Homer's Odyssey. There are 80 different theories about this subject. 30 of them are transcribed on to the maps. Some researchers limits the geography of Homer around Mediterranean, but some others made unrealistic claims and expand it until North Pole or China. Some recent researchers show that Homer's epics are indeed a journey around Mediterranean Sea. Maybe a journey with a ship sailed to Sicily, than walked from there all Italy. Homer told the journey of Odyssey, as if it was a journey on the coast line. Even if we don't have a map or anything similar from that time (only some relief maps on coins from 4th century, found in Ephesos), the geographical names and descriptions from the epics indeed match with the real geography.
