The horse, which put in 1970's to the historical site, became the symbol of the war and the trick.
During 730's B.C.E., around 500 years after Trojan War, Homer, who transcribed the Iliad, tells us that the war lasted 9 years and at the tenth year the city falls with the Trojan Horse trick. In the Iliad, it is told only the 51 days of this war which lasted 10 years. Moreover, the days which directly describe the war are not more than five. But it wouldn't be correct to accept what Homer tells us about the duration of the war, because in Near Eastern texts there is phrase like "after the ninth at the tenth". This means "until the end". There is a possibility that Homer used it at the same way: Trojan Wars lasted many years and in the poetic text this symbolised the "ten years wars".
