Who owns the Troy Historic National park and Troy today?

The fact that a plan for a National Park was drawn up in the 70s saved this area from being used for summer house constructions, which is very common along the coasts of Turkey. For this reason, there were no demands to use this area except for agricultural purposes. There are five types of ownerships within the limits of the National Park. The most important one occupying the largest area is private ownership, the second and the third are forestry and treasury land. There are some military areas on the northwest of the area. While this region is generally under protection, some parts of land are being converted to agricultural land under the control of the state. While the studies were being made in the 70's with regards to the Troy National Park, planners only dealt with defining the boundaries and special sites, nobody worked on a regional development policy. While the Troy Archeological Site was enlarged in recent years, with the exception of the the Troy castle which tourists visit, the lower city is still under private ownership.

Troy National Park is quite rich in terms of its archeological, historical, and natural resources.
